The light is rather poor.

A voice between two languages. A table for two, occupied by one. Piano, double bass and bandoneon moving around an unfinished conversation. Mara Vetrova sings of ordinary disappointments with sharp timing, dry humour and a taste for crooked melodies.

One familiar restaurant. One missing person. The waiter knows better than to ask. “The Last Good Table” twists jazz, tango and Russian-English verses into a small, strangely cheerful account of what remains.
